Game Designer

Given the project's budget, time, and resource constraints, we focused on optimising existing systems to extend gameplay time and deepen player immersion. I helped design exploration-driven mechanics that encourage players to revisit levels in search of hidden items, collectables, and unlockable outfits. These features boost replayability and tie into the Bratz ethos of personal style and discovery.

As part of the Bratz Crew, players embark on a carefully crafted adventure filled with dynamic rhythm challenges, fashion-focused tasks, and showcase performances, each offering new surprises and rewards. These layered mechanics ensure that every playthrough feels fresh, with multiple opportunities for players to personalise their journey and express themselves through fashion.

Game Breakdown

As a Game Designer on Bratz: Rhythm & Style, I worked across multiple modes to shape gameplay that balances fashion, fun, rhythm, and accessibility. The game was built to be multigenerational, with modified mechanics and scalable difficulty to ensure players of all ages can engage confidently—whether they're Bratz fans, rhythm game enthusiasts, or both.

Fashion Tour – Story Mode

Players prep outfits in the dressing room to meet themed challenges, then strut the runway in signature poses and style-offs. Gameplay is inspired by classic rhythm games like Bust A Groove, where players input timed directional combos before the beat hits. It’s a stylish blend of rhythm, fashion, and global exploration—with unlockables and progression designed to reward creativity and replayability.

Rhythm & Fitness

Inspired by “Simon Says,” players learn choreographed moves to Bratz-themed tracks, unlocking new outfits and dance styles. I focused on balancing challenge and accessibility, allowing all players to engage and progress with confidence.

Design New Styles

Customization is core to Bratz. I helped design tools that let players edit outfit colours, hairstyles, nails, and more. The system encourages creativity while remaining intuitive for younger or casual players.

Party Mode – Bring Your Crew

I worked on this local multiplayer mode to support co-op rhythm battles and fashion face-offs. Influenced by classic dance mats, this mode uses simple, responsive inputs for shared play. Split-screen and accessible features were key to making it fun for everyone.

Strategy and an explosive game mode that encourages players to explore the tower for eggs.
